Brand Objective:

Rovio Entertainment (one of the most prolific mobile games companies in the world) was looking for a new solution to rebuild the Angry Birds franchise in North America.

Strategy:

Rebuild long term brand equity by proactively managing the AB brand. Re-engage and motivate the existing licensee base or replace with new partners.

Develop better product and distribute to new retail channels and build word of mouth and consumer brand awareness for the core content through increased consumer touchpoints.

Implementation:

Right-sized licensee base with a focus on quality and design excellence. Worked with licensor and licensee marketing teams to establish a meaningful retail marketing fund to support key retail programs. Created fully integrated promotional programs including Augmented Reality experiences, in store consumer events and Sony theatrical promotional partners for the August 16, 2019 animated feature film release.

Results:

Evolution was bought in as the exclusive agent for all brand-building efforts including providing a fully integrated back office operations solution; stabilizing the existing business, while signing 15+ new licensees. Secured national promotional programs with Hostess Brands and Sonic Restaurants. Implementing cross-category product statements at key retailers for the upcoming movie window to include: toys, vehicles, construction, apparel, accessories and publishing. Supporting the ABX (10th Anniversary of the brand) on December 11, 2019 with curated art event in collaboration with Gallery 1988 and a major TBA retailer.
